Mt. Shasta Massage & Coffee?

I am moving my office to a co-created space with the crew at Seven Suns Coffee and Café. An espresso after your massage anyone? Hmmm.

Everyone who has ever been to my previous space knows that I’ve been kind of hidden away. It’s my knowing that in the new space, I’ll have the opportunity to increase my visibility. That means more people will have the chance to experience my unique vantage point of massage & bodywork.

Yep, the integration of my Becoming process really provides a certain freedom when you, the receiver of my work, create the opportunity to acknowledge that nothing happening in your body is stuck or guaranteed to affect you for the rest of your life experience. In fact, when you wholeheartedly embrace the Truth that you and your body are in constant flux; always changing, expanding, contracting, my work will give you the awareness to make a more deliberate choice about what your body reflects.

Everything you experience in your body, physically and emotionally, is an amazing opportunity to redefine and recreate your experience. Yes, if you react to pain or imbalance, make no mistake about it; you are indeed feeding what doesn’t feel good and making it more a part of your experience. The more stories you tell me (or anyone) about your pain, disease, or lack of emotional harmony, the more you are giving yourself the eyes to perceive it every where you look.

What if you could feel that pain, or experience that imbalance, but still keep your eyes focused on bliss? How long do you think that pain will last if you sincerely and tangibly keep your attention effortlessly focused on the experience you deliberately choose? The Truth is, you create the gestation period for pain to either endure, subside, or better yet, shift into its contrasting possibility of well being.

Unfortunately though, real, long-term healing usually takes a long time. When it takes a long time to release pain or imbalance and replace it with well being, or at the very least, a reprieve from chronic discord, that’s an indication of resistance. The resistance is your attention upon the pain, while asserting your intention for well being. Understand the fundamental difference? Rarely will you ever catch yourself contracting yourself in this way, because it's so easy to convince yourself you're trying so hard, even though you keep sabotaging your own efforts every step of the way.

A quote I heard Bono speak says “don’t become a monster in order to defeat a monster.” Well, the main reason, I’ve observed, why so many people keep experiencing the same pain is, they literally become it. The pain becomes such an intricate part of their identity that you have to change who you think you are to release the addiction to the pain. Most people want a quick fix. Changing is not a quick fix. In fact, it can feel extremely painful to change because it feels like an emotional dying process.

My Becoming process and the Sensation Exercise I’ve developed with clients over the years is a very simple, but extremely effective internal tool you can use any time to deliberately create your physical and emotional experience of yourself. It’s my hope that at my new location, in energetic partnership with the Seven Suns crew, that more people will choose to experience my bodywork.

While I’m writing my new book called Noise at my office, feel free to stop by and say hello. Call ahead though if you would like a chair or table massage.
